The Savanna goat is well adapted, through breeding and natural selection, to survive and reproduce under unfavorable conditions not only in South Africa, but also in other locations with similar climatic extremes. Savanna goats can utilize poor pasture, thorn bushes and shrubs due to their wide spectrum grazing. It also appears as if this goat breed has a natural resistance to ticks and other external parasites due to their thick, well pigmented, mobile skins. Savanna goats will also thrive on planted pastures and under intensive conditions produce large numbers of fast growing twin and triplet kids. Basically Savanna's are the ultimate easy care goats. To prepare Savanna goats for show or sale is very simple. The Savanna's white color and graceful appearance are very visually appealing and meet the primary animals characteristics that we are looking for on our farm. Our goal is to produce high quality Savanna goats, not just quantity. A small family farm allows us the time to nurture the animals as they grow and mature. We strive to improve the genetics of our goats and produce a hardy and healthy Savanna goat for anybody to enjoy.
Most of them are white. We have 10 doe kids and 11 billy kids. They are ready to be weaned by the end of May 2008. Call or e-mail for prices and pictures. Most American may not realize it, but goat meat is the primary meat consumed throughout the world. When grass-fed it is delicious and mild flavored. We will be at the West Plains Farmers Market with samples and USDA inspected meat for sale as well. Check back in a few weeks. |
